Parent & Me - Ages 2 to 3

What To Expect
The goal of all USA Sport Group Parent & Me classes is to introduce your child to the sport in a fun and safe environment.
Each week our coach will lead you and your child through a series of fun games and activities, all with an emphasis on your chosen sport.  Every sport played during the program promotes the development of gross & fine motor skills, encourages peer group interaction, develops communication skills, and is an excellent form of exercise.
Many games will be repeated over the duration of the class. Repetition is crucial in the development of your child and will help them become more comfortable with the skill they are trying to learn.
Your role in the class
'Parent & Me' means just that. This is a class in which both of you need to participate. You will be required to be fully involved in every class. If you have two children enrolled in the class, you will need two adults to supervise them!
The level of enjoyment and success your child will have during this class will be directly related to your level of interaction and communication during each activity. You don't need to know anything about the sport, that's our job!
What happens during the class?

Each session our coach will lead you and your child through a series of fun games and activities, following this format:

  • Group warm-up and fun game
  • Introduction to the sport
  • Group games and activities related to the sport
  • Paired parent and child activities
  • Group cool down & parachute games
Remember, your child is only 2 or 3 years old, so some games may be too easy, others too hard. Every child is different and will learn at a different pace. Parent & Me classes allow each child to experience new activities at their own pace.
And finally
Our coaches will not discipline your child if they are not behaving or disrupting the rest of thegroup. We fully understand that children at this age can easily get upset, act out or throw amajor tantrum! If this does happen, please remember that you are the parent and during this class, your child is your responsibility.
Enjoy this wonderful bonding experience and have fun!
