Host your own camp or class
Backyard Programs are private Programs that take place on a Host's property. A Host is someone who has agreed to host a program at a property that they legally occupy. To register and participate in a Backyard Program you must have prior authorization from the Host.
Participation in a Backyard Program requires you to agree to and sign the Private Program Participation Agreement, and by continuing with your registration for a Backyard Program you are agreeing to all terms and conditions associated with Backyard Programs including those outlined in the Private Program Participation Agreement. If for any reason you do not agree to these Terms you must cease to register or cancel your order immediately.
What size space do I require to host a class?
The type and size of space you need to host a BYS program will all depend on the number of children you expect to participate, however at a minimum the area should be:
- 40 x 40 yards
- Relatively Flat
- Free of any equipment or obstacles such as swimming pools, climbing apparatus, etc.
- Safe for the kids and the neighbor's property
How many children are required to host a program?
Camps: 6 or more children
Weekly Classes: 6 or more children
Small-Group: 2 to 4 children
Private Lessons: 1 child
For camps and classes, the only limitation on the number of children that can attend will be based on the size of your yard!
What is the child-to-coach ratio?
USG will provide one coach for every 10 children in the class. For more information on USG coaches and who will be coaching your children, click here
What sports do you offer?
For children aged 3 to 5: Our most popular option for this age group is our multi-sports program. You can select a combination of the following sports: Soccer, Lacrosse, Track & Field. So for camps, the kids could play one or two different sports each day. For weekly classes, they may play a different sport each week. Of course, you can just stick to one sport for the entire program
For children aged 6 to 11: You can select from the following sports: Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, Track & Field, and Flag Football. You can decide if you want to stick to one sport for the duration of the camp or weekly class, or choose to play them all!
What happens if it rains?
Weekly Classes: If a session does get canceled due to bad weather, we will make up the time lost by either adding additional time to the remaining classes or adding a make-up date at the end of the season. If neither options are possible, then all participants will be issued a credit voucher.
Camps: If any part of the camp is lost due to the weather, we will add the lost time onto the remaining days to make it up. If at least one full day of camp gets washed out and we cannot make up the time, then all participants will be issued a credit voucher.
Do I need to assist with the class or camp?
Our coaches are trained to lead the session and therefore we do not require you to be involved. However, we do require that at least one parent is close by to assist the coach with bathroom breaks and behavioral issues.
How do we register and pay for the program?
Don't worry. For all of our backyard and small group programs, we handle the registration process. All you need to do is send them a private link to the class and parents will pay individually online. The link will provide all the necessary information they need such as Dates, times, location, what to bring, price, etc.
If you are unsure, your USG representative will keep you updated on who has registered for the program.
